Damn those dirty rules

So today I had my first physical therapy appointment. I received instructions on exercises and was actually given rules for the wrist brace. Specifically I have to wear it all the time. I assume they don't mean while sleeping (ain't happening), eating (don't want to clean it), or anytime that is inconvenient to me (just about any time).

I knew I wasn't wearing it as much as I should but it is really annoying to be unable to use your wrist and if you can't use your wrist you use your arm instead which is why my shoulder now hurts. We will see how this continues. It will be interesting to see if I can draw with my hand in a brace. It might actually help me - you are supposed to use more of an arm motion then a wrist motion, anyway we just learn bad habits as kids thinking that drawing is the same as writing.

I guess I should also mention that I'm coming up to both my one hundredth post and my one year anniversary of blogging. I considered trying to match the two events up, but I highly doubt that I can go for a month and a half and only post eight times.

So, are you going to get me a present?

Take that Day seven thousand seven hundred eighty four!

Another day gone and done with. And what a fun and exciting day. I actually went to the doctor for my wrist and was diagnosed with tendonitis. So I'm typing with a brace on, and my wrist hurt's even more because she moved to diagnose and she shot it full of cortisone.

I got to watch Scott Brown win the Massachusetts election.

I discovered a third internship type job to apply for and tomorrow I'm going to request several recommendation letter for them and hopefully write essays for them which I wisely chose not to do tonight (it's really hurting to type this).

I really wish I could write more, but I have a doctor's appointment early tomorrow and I should sleep if I actually want to wake up for it.

Routine

So I'm back to my old routine. I killed a month working and have a little bit of money, but I've already gotten past the point where I feel like I can spend any of it. I'm looking for more work. Maybe some more retail to save to move. I made just over $1100 after taxes and I plan to file as soon as W2s show up. It is a great thing to be poor around tax season. I should get a couple hundred back. That's a couple hundred closer to moving out.

I feel ashamed. I haven't practiced drawing or rendering or model building, but I have nowhere to put things. My mother left all of the ornaments from the Christmas tree lying all over the living room, but I know I would never be allowed to do that. I have one other excuse, my wrist now hurts when I write. Remember, I'm not in grammer school anymore, the most writing I do by hand is a shopping list. Yeah, writing ten words hurts. A lot.

I have an appointment to fix it in a week, or at least an appointment to find out what's wrong with it, then get another appointment to fix it. Meanwhile, I started looking up images of the human wrist online (hint: look for the Gray's Anatomy ones) and have another possible diagnosis. This one more likely then the rest. Whatever good that is.

Until I've gotten the wrist thing figured out I'm being a little careful about jobs. Most theatre jobs I look at require you to lift fifty pounds easily. I can't actually do that right now, or I can, it just hurts a lot.

Well time for me to sleep. Trying to keep a schedule. Like that ever works.

Six thousand behind

As of right now I am just a little over six thousand words behind on my NaNoWriMo novel.

I'm not in the mood to write right now. I'm on a rather gory chapter and while I love reading gory chapters, writing them is quite a different thing. Every time I write a sentence I feel less like I want to someday publish it and more like I should be institutionalized. Much like the opening line in Castle "There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people - psychopaths and mystery writers.". Yeah, that's not the only reason, but it is a major one.

As I'm unable to get myself to write I keep doing everything else. I've read, I've watched Hulu, I've even drawn. I once again have the feeling that I cannot be myself here, mostly because I lacking a desk. I have nowhere to work on anything from drawing to writing, even looking for jobs is uncomforable without being at a desk. I you haven't realized I have a laptop, yet I prefer to use it at a table of some sort. Instead I'm delegated to lying in my bed (not good for my wrist) or on the storage tote I put half of my clothes in, which is about level with my bed so it is a little awkward to use. I tried to sit on my bed like a chair, but it is a little saggy, which is even irritating me for sleep purposes.

You know what I think it's time for? The "I Need a Job" song!

Me and my beloved wrist

Ligaments of wrist. Posterior view.Image via Wikipedia
My wrist hurts again.

I really wish that I had health insurance and could go to a doctor to have it checked out, but no job, no doctor. This doesn't mean I want the current healthcare bill to pass, it won't go into effect for years and if I still don't have a job by then, well, I'll have bigger problems.

Since I'm talking about myself, I suppose I should mention that I haven't really lost any weight recently, but I starting to take it seriously again, so I hope to make progress over the next couple of weeks. Heading to the beach in a couple of weeks so I doubt dieting will be the main topic of interest then.

I'm surprisingly tired tonight, might possibly be sick. Weee!

Updates

Looking at some of my previous posts felt like I should update.

I have not lost any weight. Exams and projects make me eat more and I brought a baker's dozen of bagels which I ate all by myself. I plan to starve myself for the next couple of day to even it out.

Oh and I bought a new "CD" (if it came from the interweb does it count as a CD?). IFD rocks. Got that shirt too, get lots of comments on it, cause you know it's a shirt that says "I Fight Dragons".

Needs more bitpop/chiptune/8-bit/Nintendocore.

Shit Happens II

So it's been awhile. Hell, blogger actually made me sign in today. I had a busy week trying to finish work while dodging performances. I've started work on several end of year (and of college) projects. Have my final review on Thursday, so I'll be dressing up all spiffy.

Still looking for a job and trying to clean up the shit I don't need lying around my apartment anymore. Sometimes I pick up clothes and go "why did I buy this?". Those will be going to Goodwill. I also realized that I'm missing things and I really can't figure out where they could've gone. Have that "I put them in a "safe" place, but can't remember where" feeling going on.

Yesterday I broke my headphones and today the belt clip on my iPod broke. Brought new ones. The belt clip doesn't really fit on my usual belt. The headphones are the cheap ones, not the $100 ones, since I go through them like candy.

My wrist is hurting again. Think it has to do with the watch I brought a while a back which cut the circulation off to my hand. I don't use that watch anymore, for the last two months at least, though so now I'm a bit confused.

Still working on losing weight. Probably will not reach my previously stated goal. But I feel like I'm at the lower end of 210 right now. That makes me feel better. Oddly though I haven't been able to drink enough water recently. I'll drink a couple Cokes and then go "shit" and drink a liter of water. Weird.

Anyway, enough flow of consciousness for one day.
